The Architect Series 4: Via Mar La Cerquilla by Cristina Yeregui
Welcome to our 4th episode of The Architect Series, a series of videos where we highlight and celebrate the work of our outstanding community of local architects and designers. In our latest episode of The Architects Series, we feature Yeregui Arquitectos through their design of Via Mar La Cerquilla, where architectural elegance meets seamless integration with nature.
A stunning property located in the heart of Marbella's prestigious La Cerquilla neighborhood, designed by the architect Cristina Yeregui of Yeregui Architectos, this masterpiece effortlessly blends sophistication with tranquility.
Via Mar La Cerquilla is set amidst serene surroundings of lush greenery and picturesque views of Sierra Blanca. Cristina Yeregui describes how the design focus lies in creating spaces that seamlessly connect the interior with the exterior, allowing residents to immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings. From the welcoming entrance hall adorned with vibrant vegetation to the corridors leading to the bedrooms where glimpses of the outdoors are ever-present, every detail has been meticulously crafted to evoke tranquility and serenity. One of the standout features of this project is the innovative design concept that seamlessly integrates expansive overhangs without the need for pillars, creating spacious porches that provide uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. This seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces is further accentuated by the use of materials inspired by nature, with floors adorned in hues reminiscent of natural stones, fostering a sense of harmony and timeless elegance.
Welcome to a place where luxury meets nature.

We are in Vía Mar. It is placed in La Cerquilla, which is a very nice area, very quiet residential, surrounded by many golf courses and very beautiful views to Sierra Blanca.
My name is Cristina Yeregi. I'm an architect associated from the studio Yeregi Architectos.
We are focused on creating spaces with direct connection inside and outside...so that when you're seated in your home, you can feel the garden that is surrounding you or the views that enter into the houses.
This patio has a beautiful vegetation from the entrance hall... and you can see it through all the corridors connecting the bedrooms. But also it helps you to get into the living watching this beautiful patio.
This was the first project in which we developed an idea that we were working on for quite a long time: It was to get big overhangs without pillars to help to get very nice porches with a direct connection with the insides, without any vertical element that hides any part of the garden or the environment.
We have used materials that are very in connection with nature. The floors have a color that are inspired with natural stones.
We have tried to get an harmony so that when a client enters into the house, it feels like they want to stay there forever.
