And yet Hacienda las Chapas should not be overlooked. A refined residential area of luxury villas set within a shady forest of Mediterranean pines – if you are looking for peace and tranquillity, there are few better spots on the coast. The wide, leafy streets meander up a gentle incline that affords many properties in this area wonderful views of the sparkling sea, which lies just five minutes away. In fact, this part of East Marbella is renowned for having some of the best beaches on the coast. The wide sandy shore lies in front of the Artola Dunes, an area of protected natural interest threaded with wooden boardwalks so as to preserve the rare flora and fauna that can be found just below your feet.

While it is an urbanisation offering peace and privacy, there is still the option to jump into the vibrant urban life in the centre of Marbella, little more than ten minutes away by car, or even the glamorous marina of Puerto Banús with its luxury yachts and designer boutiques.

The international airport in Málaga is less than 40 minutes away, making this an ideal location for a second home.
